Orano NCS GmbH specialises in the organization and management of worldwide multi-modal radioactive shipments (by road, rail, water and air); to some extent using our own containers and vehicles.
Orano NCS GmbH has its own transport permits in several European countries and where necessary obtains all other permits and licences.
Our business units “Nuclear Fuel Logistics on Rails” and “Irradiated and Other Radioactive Materials” are the leading providers of transportation and logistics services in the nuclear logistics business. For the transportation of MOX fuel assemblies and other goods with security requirements, Orano NCS GmbH has specially designed vehicles and satellite communications systems available, that are up-to-date with the latest knowledge and technology.
With more than thirty years of experience, our Nuclear Fuel Business Unit organizes the worldwide transportation of non-irradiated radioactive material. The Business Unit is an important service provider on the worldwide nuclear fuels circuit.
Orano NCS GmbH has its own fleet of internationally approved transport containers, such as DN30, DN30-X, NCS 45, BU-D, EB3 and associated equipment’s and offers comprehensive services relating to the design, approval, maintenance, repair and care of containers and accessories.
Our Business Unit Engineering and Radiation Protection Services supports operator of nuclear power plants in the safe operation of nuclear facilities as well as their decommissioning and dismantling. The storage of loaded client casks with low radioactive material is possible within four storage buildings on our site.
