About KernD
KernD is Germany’s leading industry association for companies and research institutions in the field of nuclear technology. Since its founding in 1959 as the Deutsches Atomforum and its merger with the Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Nuclear Technology Industry Association in 2019, KernD has brought together the interests of the sector and represents them vis-à -vis policymakers, regulators, the public, and international organizations.
KernD sees itself as an industry association, a professional network, and the central voice of nuclear technology in Germany. Its mission is to preserve technical expertise, support scientific and technological progress, and foster dialogue about the wide range of applications of nuclear technology.
